A range of grants and incentives are available to encourage the conservation of our State’s cultural heritage.

The Heritage Council provides assistance to private owners of State Registered Places through the Heritage Grants Program. The program provides assistance with the costs of conservation work, such as structural repairs, or conservation documentation. Grants are available through an annual competitive application process. Check your property's heritage listing by visiting inHerit.

The Heritage Council's Heritage Sponsorship Program aims to deliver partnerships that will support heritage in Western Australia. Organisers of events or activities can apply for funding in return for assisting with the delivery of one or more of the Heritage Council's key strategic outcomes.

Sponsored activities may: demonstrate sustainability and economic benefits of heritage conservation and adaptation; deliver or contribute to training and education in heritage conservation management; promote community engagement with the State's heritage places; and encourage heritage tourism.

Heritage Plaques recognise and celebrate places entered in the State Register of Heritage Places. If you an owner of a State Registered Place and would like a heritage plaque for your place, visit the Heritage Council's Plaques Program page for more information.

In addition to the Heritage Council, Lotterywest, a number of Commonwealth Government Agencies and some local governments offer grants and incentives for owners of heritage places.

For more information on available funding, visit our heritage grants directory or check the State Government and Commonwealth Government grant directories.
