Souvenirs

Just in cases the memories and experience aren't enough the prison also offers a wide range of mementos to remember your night. The Gatehouse Gift Shop offers a wide range of interesting souvenirs and gifts including pewter keys and themed shirts.

The Gatehouse Gift shop opening hours are 10:00 am. to 5:00 pm. every day.

Lighting

Theatrical lighting emphasises the colonial architectural features of the prison and creates a conducive atmosphere for dining. Lighting, etc can be discussed with the prison when booking your event.
Catering

What party is complete without food? All functions require the services of a professional caterer to ensure the efficient co-ordination of the function. There are a number of reputable caterers who are familiar with the Prison and know exactly what is required to make your function a night to remember. If you would like some suggestions we would be happy to supply you with contact details for a number of suppliers of 'Prison food'.

Wedding reception
Consider a unique wedding reception, birthday or corporate dinner.

While there are no restrictions regarding the caterer you choose, it is strongly recommended that the caterer undertakes a site visit with the Functions and Events Coordinator prior to the function if the caterer is not familiar with the site.

Tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery will also need to be hired although a good caterer should handle this for you.

While you're at why not create a theme for your event? Go for full Silver Service or Spartan prison style!


Alcohol

Alcohol is permitted on site and you can either bring your own or ask the caterer to organise it for you. However, if you intend to sell alcohol at your function then you will have to organise the appropriate license applications and approval yourself.


Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside any of the prison buildings.
Security

As the Fremantle Prison is a Heritage Site, security personnel are necessary at all functions. The Prison arranges security for an additional cost. The number of security personnel required will be determined by the type of function and the number attending. Minimum requirements are one security guard per 50 guests.
